In 1987 during my personal life's upheavals, I came back to Austin, TX from Reno, NV due to a lack of a permanent job after 9 months of struggling to find one there. I then took an advanced drawing class in the Art Dept, Spring, 1988 at UT Austin. This large (24",72") unframed collage was mainly a drawing by fabric, soaked in water, ink, and acrylic; it was a major achievement. I titled it "Moon Goddess Leaping Forward in Storm", with the frog in the image. My personal life as well as my professional life were both in a great deal of trouble, and both needed much repair and transformation. I listened to my intuition to seek women's company by joining Women's Spirituality Group meetings, conferences, and weekend workshops. All of which gave me a great deal of wisdom, courage, humor, and openness, creativity. I then noted that the transformations were totally sacred and a normal part of life, that grief and sadness at a loss in life is totally okay. I was grateful, humbled, and ever glad to be alive, redirecting my grief and frustrations to my creative abilities, expressing myself more, and began to spend time to consciously be in-touch with/ the spiritual source of the Great Mother Goddess of Life. I pulled thru well, particularly remembering that "Success is the Greatest Revenge"
